10 Facts about the High School Championships
CNISSF stands for California Nevada Interscholastic Ski and Snowboard Federation
The Championships rotate locations each year by which division of California is hosting. This year the Central Divisions are hosting.
There are approx. 12-15 volunteers, provided by the hosting division, that help with getting the racers lined up, posting times, announcing, etc. Please thank them for all of their hard work when you see them.
There will be approximately 500 racers here for the four days of racing.
There are six divisions of ski and six divisions of snowboard in high school racing for California.
Overall Team Champions from 2007:
Snowboard Men's: El Dorado HS; Snowboard Women's: Shasta HS; Snowboard Combined: El Dorado HS
Ski Men's: Davis HS; Ski Women's: Placer HS; Ski Combined: Davis HS
The last time that the High School Championships were held at Northstar-at-Tahoe  was in 2001.
Last years winners of the combined GS and Slalom events were: Women's Board: Freshman Caty O'Connor, Placer HS in Auburn; Men's Board: Jason Music, El Dorado HS in Placerville; Women's Ski: Ali Jacobson, Placer HS in Auburn; Men's Ski: Jake Larson Golden Sierra HS in Garden Valley
If you walk into the race shack at the bottom of the hill you could bring penalty points to your school or even a disqualification. Enjoy the view from outside, it is much less stressful.
The times of each racer will be announced over the PA and posted on the unofficial board at the bottom of the course.

Top Dawg Award

The Top Dawg award is in its sixth year. This is a way to recognize those athletes that are not here just to race but to encourage, help and support others. We all see these kids, they are exceptional athletes and go above and beyond the call of the event. We thank the team that shows this the best with a plaque to return home with to be hung at their school.

Championship Clothing

All clothing is ordered through the coaches ahead of time. Please let your coach know if you would like to order something. There will be a limited number of items on sale at the event. If you would like to see this wonderful design please click on the link below.
